PRAYER LINES FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2009

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” James 5:16

NEW PRAYERS

BAILEY, KAREN, Moberly MO, will be seeing the doctor on April 16, to see if she will need surgery on her shoulder. Please pray for our Father to intervene and heal this problem.
BOSTON, DOUGLAS #912943, Wayne Scott Unit, 6999 Retrieve, Angleton TX 77515, would like our prayers that his son will contact him and tell him that his father will get his parole in March 2010. He would like penpals from people who are Sabbath keepers. He would also like prayers for his sprained ankle, which hurts bad and swells. His doctor said it was a very bad sprain and he should stay off it for 3 weeks. “With Passover coming, he would like to have both feet washed (smile)”
HOLMES, RODNEY, a retired Tulsa firefighter who is battling cancer. He was admitted to St. John’s ICU in order for them to determine the best procedure for removing a cancerous tumor on his liver. One of the medical evaluations caused extreme pain and caused some of his vitals to become unstable. His family asks that we please pray for him.
Ken Barton, who sends the request, adds: “Rodney had to retire quite a few years ago due to chemical exposure that occurred while in the performance of his firefighting duties. Rodney is a fine man, one that I've had the blessings to get to know during my career.” Please pray for Rodney.
LIYAYI, KEVIN, Kenya writes: “I have some bad news. Lois, his baby of several months, has been sick for the last 2 weeks. It started like just like a boil on the right leg which has grown into something else, which I can not understand at all. We are very worried as we took her to a near by clinic by they told us to take her to the National hospital which is at Nairobi our capital city. We, my wife and I, went with her. They are telling me that an operation is needed to remove the growth. I am very worried; I don’t know what to do next, I know that operation will cost a lot. I am confused. Please, please pray for Lois to be well. I love her very much. I am going to seek help from our local member of Parliament. I don’t know if he will help, 28000 thousand Kenyan money is a burden for me to raise for the operation. It is like $350. (Their pay is $1-$2 a day and takes all they make for a living.) Please, please pray for me and for Lois. If you wish to contact Kevin you may reach him at his email address liyayi.kevin@yahoo.com
PORTELL, JIMMY, of Missouri, brother of Karen Bailey, is going through some severe financial problems. Please ask God’s help for him and his problems.
PORTELL, JOHN, of MO, also brother of Karen, has had stents placed in his heart, but needs yet another one. Date of surgery not known yet. Ask God’s blessing on the procedure and good health after it is done.
UNNAMED OLDER MAN, still needs full-time, more productive work. His current part-time subsidized job paying minimum wage at a poorly run non-profit organization is scheduled to end by May 1 because his spouse's income will be too high for him to re-qualify for this job. Their financial condition has improved somewhat, but they are still living week to week and have no health insurance. His 60-year old spouse continues to work 45+ hrs. weekly to support them and would like to have more time for herself. They plan to move in May to an adjacent county which will have a lower rent than what they are now paying. Your continued prayers on their behalf are requested. May all of God's people have a meaningful holy day season. Thank you for your prayers..
WALES, PEGGY, has been in quite a bit of pain for the last week. The doctor found that I had a urinary tract infection and gave me some antibiotics; but the pain did not go away. Today, I went and had a CT scan done. The found that it isn’t kidney stones, as they thought, but is a cyst on my ovaries. I go in for an ultrasound on Monday (4/6) to find out what we do next. The pain is very sharp, like someone poking me in the back with a stick. It goes away when I lie down or sit up in a chair. Please pray for God’s hand to guide the way and for His healing for me. Thanks

DUHAIME, MARSHALL DENNIS, 64, 13 Duhaime St, Hancock ME 04640 – heart attack on 3/2/09, 5 stents. – UPDATE: I received a message from Jo Duhaime today telling me that her husband died on March 9, 2009. “He was supposed to be coming home. They put 5 stents in his heart, said his numbers were all good, they were sending him to a step-down unit on Monday and he would be home by the end of the week. Instead on Monday morning about 5:30 I got a phone call saying he had arrested and they were doing everything they could. We got to the hospital about 6 or a little after and I went right to his room and found him dead. I had walked past 3 people at the nurses’ station, no one said a word to me. There was no sign on his door as a warning, nothing. I walked in, dropped my things on the floor, said, ‘Hi honey, I made it, I'm here, you can wake up now.’ - only he didn't . I was hugging him and kissing his cheek and his forehead but I got no response. I looked up at the machine to see how his numbers were and that was when I discovered he was dead. He was all disconnected from them. We would have celebrated our 30th anniversary this summer. I just don't know I’ll get through this yet. We had no medical insurance, no life insurance. I am just feeling overwhelmed at the moment. I really need to thank the brethren for all their prayers and cards. Thank you so much for your prayers on my behalf. Denny is asleep awaiting the resurrection. We have that sure promise. There is no way I can answer all the cards and letters you have all sent me. Please know I have read every single name on every single card. There are so many names I recognize. Thank you all for your love you have sent me. When I read over the cards, I am just overwhelmed with it all. Please hold fast to the truth. We have very difficult times ahead of us and I want to be able in our Father's Kingdom to meet every one of you and tell you personally how much your support at this difficult time means. Love to you all, Jo Duhaime” Please continue your prayers for Jo, she will need all she can get.
LARKEY, JERRY, Kansas City MO – spot on lungs, biopsy – UPDATE: Jerry had a successful surgery today (Tuesday 3/31) on the spot on his lungs. Doctors said the spot was small, and a biopsy will tell whether or not it is/was malignant. Either way, they felt that they got it all. Please continue your prayers that the doctors are right on both counts.

Also please note that Len and Donna's address was listed incorrectly on an earlier prayer request. It is actually 7229 Kilkenny Drive, West Chester, Ohio 45069, and cards of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Please pray for a favorable diagnosis when they meet with the doctor this Friday, the 3rd, and that God will completely restore Len's health. Urgent Prayer Request for Sunday, March 29, 2009

CHAMBERLAIN, TAMMI is going in to have a ct scan on Monday, March 30th. Then she will have a portion of her lung removed on Wednesday, April 1st. Let us pray for her complete healing by our loving God, first, and if need be, the guidance for the doctors, by our God, and a rapid recovery.
HOECK, JUDY, wife of Keith Hoeck in Arizona, will be going for surgey in Mesa, on April 1st. She has basal cell cancer below her right eye. Please pray for our loving God to heal her and if that not be the case, for Him to guide her doctors in their procedures and for a complete healing of this problem.
STILES, JOHN, has had recurring headaches for some time now and they have worsened. So he has decided to see a doctor on Tuesday, March 31st. Let us pray for God to intervene and heal John. If there is not a healing, let us ask for God's guidance with the doctor for a good diagnosis and treatment. Let us also ask for God to give John the understanding he needs to make any changes in his life that may be necessary for this healing.
FOR ALL OF GOD'S PEOPLE, prayers for guidance, understanding, correction and protection. For help in seeing the changes we need to make in our lives and the strength and encouragement to make those changes. To please help us all to overcome our selfishness. I do not believe you can find one sin that does not involve selfishness.
BRUNS, STEVE, needs help with his eating problems. "I am currently not eating like I should be. I have been trying to handle this problem on my own. I have been praying about it but not winning the battle. I am a diabetic and since Thanksgiving have not been able to get a handle on eating properly. I know what I should and should not eat. I do not feel that I am in extreme danger at this time, but left out of control, I could go to where I should not be. I pray that with your prayers, along with mine, God will help me overcome. I thank you for your prayers for me and for all of those in need of prayers.

PRAYER LINES FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2009

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

URGENT

PERKINS, KRISTEN, daughter-in-law of Mike & Derinda Smith, 17639 S 49th W Ave, Mounds OK 74047, was injured in an auto accident today. She was taken to the hospital (high-risk pregnancy); she is 5 1/2 months pregnant. She was having contractions. After the baby was checked out thoroughly, the doctors reported that the baby was just stressed, and since the mother was stressed also, they are trying to stop the contractions. They believe they will stop. In the car with her, was her husband and son. They were both okay. Please pray for this mother and baby, that the contractions will stop and the baby will come closer to term.

NEW PRAYERS

BYRNES, JAKE, son of Joe and Cristine, is hospitalized in CHOP (Philadelphia PA) with serious problems that he has had for quite a few years. Jakey has been diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia and also hyperthyroidism. This week Jakey was moved from Cardiac Intensive Care Unit to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit!!!!!!,,,which means that his heart is getting much better and his biggest issues now are (A), his lungs continuously fill with fluids which are routinely removed via suction and (B), he is so soooo weak that he needs some major neurological rehab. While he has improved from last Sunday when he could only wiggle his toes, he can now respond and squeeze Daddy's finger when requested and every now and then open his eyes. He also tries to remove the IV’s and breathing apparatus. He still has a long way to go, but I know he is a tough kid. His main cardio doctor told me tonight, about an hour before I left that "WHEN Jake comes home..." the rest was noise to me as last week it was IF. Please pray for this young man and his family.
BYRNES, AMANDA, 18, older sister of Jake (above), a beautiful, charismatic, intelligent, young girl, has been fighting an eating disorder plus some other issues for some time now. It is believed to be connected, somewhat , to her brother’s illness and prognosis. She is in the Renfrew LT Eating Disorder program and is doing much better. As Jakey improves, so does she. Please pray for Mandy, Jake and their parents, who are going through so much.
HURTT, LYNN, of Mt. Grove MO. He is a retired veteran and is suffering from pancreatic cancer. Please pray that the Father will send His comfort to Lynn and his family.
KENDALL, JUDY, Unit 95/56 Carrs Rd, Neath, NSW 2326 AUSTRALIA, wife of Alan, long-time minister with COG, who is asking for prayers for Judy. “For the past three years Judy's health has deteriorated. She has great difficulty walking, as her right leg is now almost useless. Her left leg appears to be heading the same way. She was getting around by use of a wheeled walking frame but now I have had to buy a wheelchair because walking was painfully slow. She often suffers severe pain in her knees and lower spine. She has tingling in her finger tips and pain in her elbow joints, though not severe. Occasionally she loses control of the side of her mouth and this causes her to choke easily when eating or drinking.
She is, today, (Friday March 20) in the hospital where they are intending to take a small piece of a nerve from her right foot and do a biopsy to see if they can find out what is causing her problems. The specialists think that she has an infection in her nervous system, not unlike motor neuron disease. We thought that her problem was spinal but the specialists have discounted this. Your prayers and those of the many who read your prayer list would be much appreciated. Please pray for these lovely people.
LARKEY, JERRY, Kansas City MO, has a spot, about the size of a dime, in his lungs. Doctors believe it to be cancerous. Biopsy was to be done this week. Jerry had prostate cancer a while ago and it was cured. Please pray for good results from this biopsy.
NEUBERT, LEN, 7549 W Chester Rd, W Chester OH, minister of the Heartland Fellowship in Middletown OH, is in the Jewish Hospital in Kenwood. He went in for tests to determine the cause of his severe back pains. An EKG showed that his heart is strong, but other tests revealed spots on his liver and a mass on the pancreas. What he thought would be outpatient tests, turned out to be admittance to the hospital for further tests and a possible operation on Friday (today). This is shocking news to Len and his wife, Donna, since there is a potential that this could be very serious. Pray for the surgery, if done, that it is being done early and that it will be successful. Please pray for God’s complete healing for Len.
SIMMONDS, RODNEY C., of Austria, “is not feeling at all well and the internal pain and problems seem to be getting worse. The internist specialist yesterday referred me to an urologist. The internal bleeding is getting worse, not better. I am all bunged up as well. Please pray for healing. The body is having problems with digesting and with getting rid of the waste matter. Please pray for Rodney for a relief and healing of his problems.

THOMPSON, EVA, c/o Sondra Beam, 111 Klista Cove Rd, Fulton MS 38843, Lung Cancer, Stage IV, metastasized to spine in 3 places; at home but doing badly. – UPDATE: I wanted to update you on my Mother, Eva Thompson, because there is soooo much wonderful news from this week in regards to her!! Thanks to sooo many who has sent their prayers and fasting on behalf of my Mother, she has had such a wonderful week with a complete turn around of being able to eat and a good appetite. The lady who sat with her this week during the day even saw how she had improved and noticed that she even went past the allotted time for her pain pills. She has been up and walking and even was able to go to the mall for a few minutes after her doctors appointment this week. Her doctor was surprised at her feeling well too....she is looking at being able to return to her home in Fort Walton Beach but still arranging to stay with family if she needs them during the night. We are thanking Abba for His mercy and healing and we keep proclaiming the blessing of healing that He gives to us. Words of gratitude are not enough to those who have sent cards and their prayers and we ask that the prayers continue until Mother receives complete healing as we are leaning on!! Love to all and we all know that we worship an awsome God!!

PRAYER LINES FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2009

“Behold, I will bring health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.” Jeremiah 33:6

NEW PRAYERS

CARTWRIGHT, BRANDI, daughter of Ray & Pam Kurr of Tulsa area, is about 6 months pregnant (high risk pregnancy) and currently has a kidney infection. She was vomiting Wednesday night and had not been able to keep water down Thursday. She is suffering back pain. Diabetes is playing a part in her problems. Her doctor said if she continues vomiting and not being able to drink water, he will admit her to the hospital. He does not want her to dehydrate. The family is asking prayer for God’s intervention.
FREEMAN, CARI, 8966 Tinker Loop #B, Moses Lake, WA 98837, daughter of Steve and Linda Bruns, has been sick since March 3rd, or before. Upon seeing a doctor, she was told that she probably just had the flu. The next day she got a call from the doctor who told her the culture was negative for flu and she had RSV, which was very contagious. After some time, she returned to work, and after one day, was feeling terrible again; in bed. She was taken to a walk-in clinic; spent 7 hours there, and was told he didn’t know what was wrong. He told her to see her regular doctor the next day, which she did and was told that she needed to have her gall bladder removed either today or tomorrow. She went in for surgery today, March 17, Tuesday; had it removed and was back home that night. Praise God. Her doctor did tell her that there may have been something else wrong. The surgeon said things looked good, but in a couple of months, when she was healed, she could go back for another ultrasound.
Steve would like prayers for her complete recovery and healing for anything else that may be wrong. He also feels that some cards would lift her spirits and they would be thankful for all the prayers we could get on her behalf.
LINDSTROM, JANECE, has prayers being asked for by her twin sister, Janine. She asks; “Please pray that my twin sister Janece will find her soulmate, a Sabbath-keeper. She is alone and feels sad a lot, because she have no man to share her life, in this life.”
RANDALL, JOSH, 24, grandson of Mary Randall, is on heroin. They are waiting for a bed in a detox center and then he needs to be in a good rehab center. “This is a horrible condition to get yourself into. He is like a person in a deep hole and can’t get out.” Please pray with Mary for God’s help for this young man.
RICHARDSON, TONI, Mobile AL, is asking for prayers for her newborn great nephew. He and his twin sister were born premature and he is still in the hospital with health problems. She doesn’t know the full details, but as she says, “The Heavenly Father knows this little one.” Please pray for his complete healing.
SEAMAN, KATIE, 9, Atlanta area, niece of Vernon and Sarah Seaman of Owasso OK, has a brain tumor. The tumor is around her brain stem and growing toward her brain. Doctors do not want to try to operate and are planning to begin radiation right away. As you can imagine, this has been hard on the whole family, especially the grandparents, Vernon’s parents. The family is asking others to join them in praying for a miracle.

TIMEK, STANLEY, 201 Baker Rd. Pittston, PA 18640 – heart problems - UPDATE: “When I went to ER for the pains in my heart, they told me that I wasn't in A-fib, which is what I asked for in my prayer request. Our GOD hears the prayers of His Saints.I thank everyone for their prayers and concern. I recently had a eye exam. Several years ago I was told I had a freckle in my right eye that could become cancerous. Now they tell me it seems to be getting larger. Also, I have a growth on my left ear and the biopsy report showed it to be skin cancer. I would deeply appreciate prayers for these problems. Passover is coming and trials are coming with it, to help us endure and learn from. My prayer is for all to have a blessed and spirit filled Passover….”

Urgent Prayer Request for Wednesday, March 18, 2009

BUCHANAN, CREW, Nashville TN - 9 mos . cancer, chemo, getting better - UPDATE: Crew was to go in for surgery today, Wednesday, 3/18 at 8:00 a.m. Our report did not know exactly what was to be done, except that it involves the liver. An earlier message about Crew, read like this: "Crew's parents received this message from his doctor Monday evening. He said, 'We have good news! Crew's liver is now within the normal size range; there is no evidence of metastasis in his lungs and the main Neuroblastoma (tumor) in his liver has shown SIGNIFICANT reduction in size.' Praise God for such a wonderful report!!
At this time, the scans have been turned over to the surgery team who will decide how they want to proceed. Please continue to pray on Crew's behalf that the doctors would have wisdom making the decision about whether or not Crew actually needs surgery. Obviously it would be invasive and require a long hospital stay with the recovery process."

Pleasse pray for all to go well for this special little boy and please ask God to strengthen all the family. We appreciate all the prayers and encouragement, and would love to have that miracle!!!

PRAYER LINES FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2009

“May my prayer be set beforeYou like incense; may the lifting of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” Psalms 141:2

NEW PRAYERS

COOPER, GAYNELL, 923 Kaufman, Mt. Vernon TX 75457 is hospitalized and very sick. What her symptoms or problem is, was not reported. Please pray for her, God knows her problems.
HUBERT, M. R., 5 (0) Buddha St, Chennai, Madras, 600024, India writes: “We celebrated ‘Women Day’ March 8th, with full honor for the elderly women who have been neglected by their families, these women are counseled and cared by us to some extent possible. you would have seen just a fortnight ago how their treasure of knowledge and experience was channeled for the young children under our care. these elderly were given new saris and blouses (saris is a dress , traditional dress worn by women), they were invited to a wedding , they enjoyed a breakfast and delicious lunch . yes its a great blessing to newly weds, well this prompted our ladies to sit with me for a while and made me to stimulate a better support for them. its well understood that the recession, economic meltdown happening everywhere, at the same time its our karma or responsibility to do the best for the people who come to us for help. in order to address their needs such as meal and taking them to hospitals for checkups. we thought of forming a self income generating group by these ladies and they can work for one or two hours purely voluntary. the goods produced would be marketed or sold , the income accruing out of it would aid to support our work for the down trodden children and elderly. well what we need is a prime water money, it means like pouring a small portion of money in the old water pump , which would bring forth water as we pump. this would aid these elderly moms or grandmothers to have some dignity and honor which they would lave lost for so long. i thought it would be worthwhile efforts during passover season. your prayers, kind words of appreciation and suggestion is most welcome.”
MC COMB, MELODY, daughter of Bob and Lisa, 1718 Waterway Cove, Whitehouse TX 75791, was taken to the hospital yesterday morning for surgery to remove a bump from her big toe. “The bump had been in place for about 3 months now. It is a relatively simple procedure, but she will have to be put to sleep.” Her parents were asking for prayers to help them make it through. Before I read the above message, I had received another one: “Thanks to everyone! We are at home and comfortably resting already, got here at 11:45 a.m., roughly, and she was already hungry. It was very successful and a very low stress situation. The prayers helped immensely! Praise to God for his help. While we were waiting for the surgery to get done, Bob and I ran into Mitch Rhodes there, and please pray for them also. (see below)
RHODES, ETHAN, 6, son of Mitch and Kim, who has Leukemia, was taken to the hospital yesterday running a 103 degree fever and had a large swollen area on one side of his face. Mitch was worried they might have to fly him to Dallas, but as the McCombs were leaving, Mitch reported that Ethan had been released. This young man and his family need our prayers for his healing.

UPDATES

BRUNS, LINDA, Moses Lake WA – fell twisting left foot, very painful – UPDATE: Linda is doing a lot better. She went in to see the doctor on Thursday, the 5th. He told her that recovery would be 1 to 5 weeks and that she should not climb stairs or squat down. He gave her another week off work. She talked to her boss about the limitations the Dr gave her and they were thinking of her working half days, the last half of her shift, which has more sitting than walking. The doctor told her that she could only be on her feet 1 to 10% of her shift. She took the wrap off of her foot Friday night, because it was bothering her. She has left it off since then and been able to walk without her cane, but with a significant limp. She, now, believes she may be able to go back to work next Sunday night. We thank everyone for their prayers (a labor of love) and ask for continued prayers.
BULLOCH, LINDA, 70, 4202 Enchanted Gate Dr, Spring TX 77373 – diabetic, no feeling in feet or legs, has a charcot left foot and has financial problems trying to house and feed others – UPDATE: I am still pretty much in the same condition. Had to go to the hospital ER once again with same symptoms but they were able to get me back to being ok to go home this time. Am having home care nurse coming to dress my foot and leg wound 4 days per week and the leg has finally healed. Foot still being cared for. Both legs are being treated for blisters and skin problems. My diabetes is still not under control. I still have kidney infections most of the time and have to stay off my feet. I’m still trying to get my sister here from California, but so far money not available. There has been some help but still not enough. She is working on selling HH furniture and items to raise money and working when she is called to do so but she still has to pay for living now. Hopefully she will be able to join me in Texas soon. I am still providing a home for neighbor lady who is just starting a new job and hopefully she will be able to get on her feet and get an apartment. Thanks very much to those who have and who are praying for us. And thanks very much for those who have helped personally. I will write to you soon. Just have not been able to get to it due to constant problems and things going on here. But thanks to you all and may God bless each and everyone of you. Thank you so much.
CONFLETTE, DOUG, of West Wyoming PA, scheduled for kidney surgery – UPDATE: Doug’s surgery was Friday 3-6-09. The surgery went well. He is up and moving around. They are possibly going to discharge him Tuesday 3-10-09. Thank all for their prayers, and please continue to pray for his complete healing and that he doesn’t get any infections.
PIES, LISA HAYES, Cincinnati OH, liver cancer – UPDATE: Lisa was about to undergo surgery to have the remaining cancer on her liver removed when they found out that the cancer had spread over her entire abdomen. This was a complete shock since it had not shown up previously. They were unable to do the surgery on her liver and are now unsure how they need to proceed. They were devastated because she was doing so well before (thanks to your prayers), but now feel it is just a matter of time. Please pray for God's intervention and healing and guidance for Lisa and her husband Kirk, and their sons Ian and Julian.
RICE, RALPH, Brillion WI, brother of Louise Bertrand – prostate cancer – UPDATE: Dr. found a drop in Ralph’s PSA, so wants him to continue the medication he’s on for another 2 weeks. Please continue your prayers for him
STENHOUSE, WAYNE, Maitland, Ontario, Canada - inoperable liver cancer – UPDATE: Wayne spent a few months at a wellness clinic and came home feeling stronger. He has had a set back recently. He is retaining water. His Doctor has upped his water pills and they are hoping that will take care of the problem. I know he has appreciated all your prayers and would appreciate your continuing prayers now for this recent set back. Also would you put his wife in your prayers. This is very hard on Sylvia and also she is having problems with a pinched nerve in her back that is going down her leg.

PRAYER LINES FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2009

“May my prayer be set beforeYou like incense; may the lifting of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” Psalms 141:2

NEW PRAYERS

BIERMAN, LOIS, 16101 Windham Dr, Little Rock AR writes: “At times my heart stops beating, and it makes for a weird feeling in the chest. If I am taking my pulse at this time, the pulse stops. My pulse is too fast, even at rest; 121 beats per minute, if I’m up walking around or doing house work. I really would appreciate prayers for this problem.”
FLOYD, LINDA, PO Box 1803, Splendora TX 77372 – Parkinson’s, heart abnormality, gall bladder – UPDATE: Linda was finally able to have her gallbladder surgery and the surgery was successful and she is doing much better. She does have Parkinson’s Disease, so please keep her in your prayers.
KAREN, Prayers are being asked by Betty Vuletich, for Karen and her family to find peace, in both of their health problems and most important, that they have peace with God; may they hold on to him. She thanks us for joining with her in prayers for this family.
MICHEM, SEAN & KATIE, both are in the military, stationed in Georgia. He is suffering with pneumonia and latest word is that she has also taken ill. Please remember them in your prayers. Thank you.
RATLIFF, TROY & MAXINE, N Little Rock AR need our prayers. Maxine writes: “I caught one of the bugs going around; I was sick for over two weeks. I had to keep going though; I have a husband and business to take care of. He has really been in bad shape. The last results show his liver is not doing too good. The dialysis is really hard on him and the dementia does not help any. I will know on March 19th (a week from our 60th anniversary) if the surgeon will operate on my back. I also need knee surgery. Please keep us on your Prayer list.” Please pray for Troy and Maxine.
RICHARDSON, TONI, 5049 Easy Street Mobile, AL 36609 is down in her back and in much pain. Please pray for relief from pain and healing.
SMITH, CONNIE, c/o Carol Richmond, 1910 Jane St #111, Longview TX 75601 – Connie’s sister, Carol Richmond, called this morning to get prayers for Connie, who fell last evening and broke her right arm. They rushed her to the hospital but they would not do any surgery for her, because of her fragile condition and age. The put the arm in a sling, and told her to see her regular doctor this morning. Connie has suffered for many years with rheumatoid arthritis and has all the problems associated with it, immune deficiency, decreased bone density, etc. Please remember Connie in your prayers and ask God to help her through the pain.
THOMPSON, EVA, c/o Sondra Beam, 111 Klista Cove Rd, Fulton MS 38843, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, Stage IV, on January 24th. She has never smoked a day in her life and has not been around much second hand smoke. This type of lung cancer affects non-smokers & females. It also is hardly ever detected until it is full blown. It has already metastisized to her spine in 3 places. She had been experiencing pain in her back left shoulder blade starting around the end of December, but thought that it was her Osteoporosis or Arthritis and went to her regular GP Doctor. They took a chest X-ray after her coming back several times complaining of pain and they came up with Pneumonia and sent her home with antibiotics and no pain pills. After returning to the doctor several times later with terrible pain------she never was given any pain pills, so Mother went to the emergency room where they did a CatScan and a chest X-ray and they saw the mass on her right lung. She was then scheduled for a Pet Scan 3 days later and the results showed Lung Cancer, Stage IV already metastisizing to her spine. She started Radiation treatment (15 treatments) due to the pain to get it under control and was able to take 12 treatments before becoming too ill to continue on because of her throat and chest being burnt up and not being able to eat. She also was started on a chemo pill that targets the cancer tumor, but it was not the first line treatment that was needed. She was unable to be a candidate for Chemo because of her weakened condition when she came into the hospital. I took her to a homeopathic clinic in Vienna IL (outside of PaducahWe were bringing her home at her request, but only got as far as my home in Tupelo MS where we had to put her in the hospital to get her dehydration under control. She was able to get out of the hospital on the 28th of Feb and come to my home in hopes of getting her back on her feet. We are struggling with severe pain, at times, and no appetite. The goal for us is to get her strong enough to continue on with the supplements and herbs and the electromagnetic therapy that we were using in IL. We are fighting against the constant pain and no appetite. We are applying Caster Oil compresses for pain and that is helping. Please pray for Abba's mercy and deliverance from the pain and no appetite. As I have expressed to so many, she has been my life, all my life since it has only been her and I all of my life. She is a precious one and one that has always been there for others and who has wished not to have a death of pain and suffering. Please remember her in your prayers; she is ready to continue in this life if she can still be an instrument in Abba's hand, but if not, she is ready to await the kingdom of God

MULLEN, MELODEE, 11, critical condition in Texas Children’s Hospital, unsteady blood sugar and heart rate.- UPDATE: Melodee is off the respirator and no longer needs oxygen. She was able to sit up and eat for the first time since she was hospitalized. Her heart rate is down now and they are considering taking her out of ICU and putting her in a regular room. However, her blood sugar level is still around 200 so please continue to pray. I know God has heard the many prayers and has done these great things for Melodee. Thank you for your prayers, but please continue to pray for her.
RICE, RALPH, Brillion WI, brother of Louise Bertrand – prostate cancer – UPDATE: The medications that the doctor had him take, has not done much good. He is still bleeding and in much pain. He returns to the doctor today for a checkup and testing. Please pray for a good report from this meeting and ask God’s healing for Ralph.
SMITH, MIKE, 17639 S 49th W Ave, Mounds OK 74047 – arthritis causing excruciating pain, [Knees, Shoulder, Elbow, and Ankles]. UPDATE: “I was sick for so long, due to anti-rejection drugs [for heart transplant] and Arthritis meds reacting together, took my immune system down to nothing. I'm off Arthritris meds right now. I'm well with no immune system. Thanks for all the prayers and pray I stay well with no immune system, and afterwards.” Please continue your prayers for Mike.
SNELSON, JOEY, severe injuries suffered in auto accident; brain damage, coma - UPDATE from Barbara Roush: “My nephew, Joey Snelson, is out of the coma after being in a coma for over a month. He is remembering several things. He is breathing on his own. He has had his trach removed, which he does not need any more. They also have removed the gastro tube and he is eating now. They removed the huge halo holding his head and neck in place from fractured neck. He has a support on his neck but not a huge heavy metal one. He can make most needs known, though his speech is much impaired. God has surely been with this young man and has brought him a long way. The accident was on December 13, 2008. So he has come a long way in last 2 months. He will be in rehab for a while, but if he will ever be fully recovered, back to normal, is unknown, but with God all things are possible. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers offered up to our Heavenly Father in Joey's behalf. Please continue your prayers for Joey for a complete and total recovery. Thanks be to God. Barbara Roush”

Please continue your prayers for Stan and his heart problems.

DEATHS, BIRTHS, MISCELLANEOUS

FRITTS, CARL, died on February 28, 2009 and was born September 9, 1914. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christina. The funeral was Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 1:00 PM at Church of God International, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Those officiating were Denny Ledford, Archie Reynolds, Benny Sharp, Bronson James, Wayne Turnbull and Charles Groce. Interment was in Bella Vista Cemetery, Bella Vista, AR.
KUSHEBA, CHARLES MICHAEL, died January 5, 2009 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview TX. He was 95 years old. He has been a member of God's church since 1963 and worked at AC, Big Sandy from 1971 until it closed the first time in 1977. He was a supervisor in the building and grounds department and took great pride in keeping the old Imperial School grounds beautiful. Survivors are his widow, Joyce of Tyler, TX and his son, Michael Kusheba, of Liberty City, TX. He also has 2 grandsons, and 3 great grandchildren. Many people came to know Mr. Kusheba in the various Churches of God in East Texas. He was the only one that I know who openly went to both WWC and CGI services during the same period of time. He will be missed.
